After arriving in Yurimaguas, we rode our bikes out of the jungle and into the mountains of Peru, with Huaraz and the Cordillera Blancas as our goal. The jungle was hot, and many regions that were once categorized as jungles looked more like deserts from the development of farmland and over-grazing.
